Malibu Tile Works is owned and operated by artist, Janine Waldbaum. Janine has been involved with many areas of arts and crafts for most of her life. She studied Interior & Environmental Design at UCLA -with a particular interest in surface design and ornamentation. Janine's love of tile and particular interest in the works of the Malibu Potteries - inspired her to become a docent at the Adamson House/Malibu Lagoon Museum. Her varied artistic interests seemed to meld when she first experimented with creating tiles for use in her own home. From that moment on - designing and creating art tiles has been a passion. Her home and studio were destroyed in the 1993 Malibu fire -but she re-established her studio near the original site...and ultimately relocated to the NoHo Arts District in 2011.

We provide many services including: custom design, silk-screen creation, custom glaze formulation and color matching, before-and-after mock-ups, custom die-making for extruded mouldings. We are always happy to give advice and design direction when requested. Malibu Tile Works is a full custom tile design studio located in North Hollywood, California. Tile artist, Janine Waldbaum, can translate virtually any traditional or custom design into a tile creation for use as decorative accents for kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, fountains, murals, pools, spas, table-tops, entrances and any surface that can use a beautiful, colorful and durable design element. Tiles can be installed inside or outside, used as trivets, or hung on a wall as art. There are many existing designs to choose from or we can create just what you need.
